Wearing a mask is mandatory in Punjab

Lahore (94 news) The Punjab government has made it mandatory to wear masks to ensure the implementation of environmental laws. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has directed to take steps on a war footing in view of the current smog situation. Senior provincial minister Maryam Aurangzeb has appealed to the citizens to participate fully in the jihad against environmental pollution. He said that every citizen has to play a role to avoid the effects of smog with strong winds coming from India. Maryam Aurangzeb clarified that rules and regulations to control smog (SOPs) Any lapse in implementation will not be tolerated. He said that black smoke vehicles and chimneys will remain closed in Lahore, while arrests will be made for burning crop residue.

He further said that an emergency traffic plan is also being issued in Lahore to reduce the intensity of smog. These measures are indispensable for improving the health of citizens and the environment.
