Faisalabad: For air pollution, smog prevention and monitoring 16 A member committee has been set up

Faisalabad(94 News City Reporter) Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar for prevention and monitoring of air pollution, smog in Faisalabad Division. 16 Member Smog Monitoring and Control Committee has been established. The chairperson of the committee will be Commissioner Faisalabad. According to the notification issued, the committee includes Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad, CPO, CTO, DGFDA, Director Environment, MD WASA, DGPHA, Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation and Department of Industry and Agriculture. Besides, Department of Environment Sciences of Government College University Faisalabad and Agriculture University Faisalabad. Chairman of Institute of Soil and Environment Sciences and representatives of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce will also be part of the committee. The responsibilities of the committee include monitoring of air quality index, identification of pollution spots, implementation of SOPs against emitting vehicles, industrial units, crop residue and garbage burning. Apart from this, promotion of cleanliness and green environment among citizens, conducting public health awareness campaigns through media and reviewing analytical reports regarding air pollution and smog will also be included in the mandate of the committee. The committee will hold meetings twice a week from October 2025 to January 2026 and will submit its implementation report to the commissioner.
