Announcement to observe "Anti-Smog Week" from 2nd to 8th November across the district

Faisalabad(94 news) On the directives of the Punjab Government, "Anti-Smog Week" will be observed throughout the district from November 2 to 8. In this regard, apart from ensuring preventive and preventive measures to prevent smog, all kinds of programs will be organized for public awareness.

Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali said that there are dangers of smog in the changing weather, which requires public awareness to avoid its harmful effects. He asked the Department of Education, Health, Social Welfare, Environmental Protection, Waste Management Company, Municipal Corporation, District Council and other departments to inform the public about the causes of smog, its harmful effects and preventive measures in addition to legal and administrative measures to control the smog situation. In this regard, organize awareness seminars, walks, lectures in educational institutions, speech competitions among students, distribution of information pamphlets among the public, and other types of programs to highlight the awareness to prevent smog during the anti-smog week and provide reports on departmental performance. The Deputy Commissioner asked the officers of the Environment Department to strictly implement the closure schedule of smoke-emitting kilns, while traffic police and secretary RTA should immediately close such vehicles that are emitting heavy smoke. He directed to make it mandatory to set garbage on fire, sprinkle water to control dust, make it mandatory to cover trolleys carrying soil with tarpaulin, burn crop residue and set fire to tires etc.
