Lahore (94 news) Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Punjab Uzma Bukhari introduced the "Child Marriage Restraint Act" in the Punjab Assembly. (Prevention of child marriages) Appreciating the dynamic and courageous role of Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan on the legislation regarding He said that listening to the opinions of all schools of thought on this important subject and running the House in a democratic manner is a proud example. We are all daughters and as public representatives, it is our primary responsibility to protect the rights of the downtrodden sections of the society, especially the young girls who are subjected to social expediency against their will.

He expressed confidence that this historic legislation will yield positive results in the future and send a clear message to the society.

The provincial minister also appreciated the behavior of the dissenting members in the House and said that disagreement is the beauty of democracy. The brothers who gave their arguments within the realm of civility, we respect their position and despite the approval of the bill, we will take the path of negotiations to remove their reservations so that all parties can be convinced on this sensitive issue.

On this occasion, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan thanked the information minister for his words and said that he has only fulfilled his responsibility. Appreciating the quality of the debate during the passage of the bill, he said that only bold decisions set the direction of the society. He clarified that the decision of the majority in the House is paramount and the spirit of democracy is hidden in it.
