Faisalabad:WASA is launching two major mega projects of clean water supply and sewerage, briefing Sohail Qadir Cheema's commissioner

Faisalabad(94 News City Reporter) Two big mega projects are being launched for the supply of clean water and sewage treatment to the urban population of Faisalabad. Regarding these projects, Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar was given a detailed briefing by MD Vasa Sohail Qadir Cheema. On this occasion, Additional Commissioner Coordination Amir Raza and Deputy Managing Director Engineering Saqib Raza were also present. In the briefing, it was informed that 101 million gallons of clean water is being supplied to the citizens daily by WASA, but keeping in mind the growing needs of the citizens, a plan to supply another 30 million gallons of clean water per day is being started, which will be completed by September 2027. Along with this, work has also started on the 33 million gallons daily sewage water treatment project. These two projects will be completed at a cost of more than 20 billion rupees. During the briefing, Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar said that the sewage water treatment plant will be the first project of its kind in the country's history, which will provide environment-friendly facilities to the citizens. He emphasized that provision of clean water and basic drainage facilities to the citizens should be the top priority of WASA. The commissioner further directed that WASA should prepare a comprehensive plan for sewage and rainwater drainage of the city soon so that the citizens can be relieved from the problems in the context of rains and increasing population.
