These arrangements were completed under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Under Training Dr. Zarghana Khalid, whose aim is to provide a safe, dignified and convenient environment to women buyers. Dr. Zarghana Khalid, while talking to media representatives, said that this initiative is a practical example of the district administration giving active role to women in economic activities. He said that women buyers will now be able to buy sacrificial animals directly from women traders, which will not only facilitate the purchase but will also provide dignified employment opportunities to women traders. (T)Under the direction of Nadeem Nasir, the market has also been provided with a separate entrance, security, and necessary facilities so that women can shop without any hassle or rush. Dr. Zarghana Khalid added that it is not just a market, but a step towards women's independence. The Government of Punjab is committed to providing safe, dignified and effective participation of women in all sectors. The district administration has also appealed to the citizens to welcome the participation of women in the cattle market and cooperate with the administration to make this positive experience more successful on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
