To prevent traffic accidents in Faisalabad, public and media should play a role, Chief Traffic Officer Nasir Javed Rana

Faisalabad (94 News Mian Hamza Nadeem) Chief Traffic Officer Faisalabad Nasir Javed Rana while talking to media representatives at Faisalabad Press Club said that in this era journalists play the role of a strong bridge between institutions and people. Through the media, we want the public to be informed about the increasing number of accidents and their serious consequences in a timely manner. An accident does not take only one life but affects the entire family. Many times the accident victim is the sole breadwinner of the household, and if a doctor or professional loses his life, the entire society suffers. He said that over-speeding and one-way violation is human's own mistake, and these mistakes cause fatal accidents, so our common goal with the public should be to protect precious lives. The CTO said that the traffic police has launched a comprehensive awareness campaign to prevent accidents, which includes announcements in mosques, media campaigns, helmet awareness programs and road safety lectures. He said that “Challan on helmet is not for challan, but to save human life.” He said that laws are always made to be implemented, that's why steps are being taken to improve line marking, lane arrangement and traffic system in the city. Under special measures for women, traffic police teams have been sent to various educational institutions which are providing practical training to women on safe driving. CTO Nasir Javed Rana further said that over speeding, signal breaking, wrong overtaking and violation of one way can be fined from 2000 to 20000 rupees and imprisonment up to six months. People have to obey traffic rules if they want to avoid fines. Appreciating the role of media, he said that traffic police and journalists can only reduce accidents in the city and promote safe traffic culture.
