Faisalabad (94 News City Reporter) Govt College Women University Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Kanwal Amin (Medal discrimination) The first meeting of the Community Champions Committee was held under the chairmanship of The establishment of this committee is a manifestation of the Vice Chancellor's determination that she believes in establishing lasting and effective linkages between industry and academia. The committee includes Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce, Women Chamber, FPCCI, PHMA, University of Agriculture and environmental and other prominent institutions as representatives, industrialists and businessmen as representatives. In the meeting, the need for collaboration between industry and university to promote research and creative activities was emphasized and decisions were taken. The participants expressed their concern that the students lack professional skills, confidence and effective communication. Due to which there is a gap between the industry and the education sector. The Vice-Chancellor informed the members about the important initiatives of the University. ”Professors of Practice” He specifically mentioned the important steps like approval of and inclusion of compulsory course on personality development in the curriculum. He further informed that the focus of the university is on practical training of the workforce and preparation for employment. The forum agreed that the industry sector should lead the education sector in promoting research and development based on market needs. The Vice-Chancellor invited the participants to contribute to the improvement of facilities in the Jamia's Hi-Tech Lab, Diagnostic Lab, Business Incubation Center and Fashion and Textile Design Department. The participants fully supported the Vice-Chancellor's practical initiatives and reiterated their commitment that this platform will play a key role in creating lasting partnerships between education and industry, educational reforms and a better future for students.
