Aggressive steps should be taken to control unnecessary inflation and over-selling, Deputy Commissioner

Faisalabad(94 news) Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali has directed the Price Control Magistrates to take aggressive steps to control the excessive inflation and over-selling of essential commodities in the district. He issued this directive while reviewing the performance of the price control magistrates of the district during a meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner General Mian Aftab Ahmed and other officers were also present.

The Deputy Commissioner said that according to the government guidelines, keeping the prices of essential commodities under control is the first priority of the district administration so that the consumers can be saved from inflation mafia. He said to keep a close eye on the quality and weight of the essential items along with the sale at fixed rates. He directed to maintain close contact with the traders and traders of the grain market and vegetable markets and said that there should be no interruption in the supply of vegetables, fruits and grocery items according to the demand and in case of shortage of any item, immediate provision should be made for supply. The Deputy Commissioner said that there should be a regular and systematic procedure of checking the prices so that the general shopkeepers automatically charge the fixed rates of the essential items while the repeat violators should be punished. He said that there should be no concession to the profiteers to provide financial relief to the public.
