New Delhi (94 news) Indian Army gets power to directly monitor social media content.

The Indian Army will now be able to issue direct notices to remove social media content. The Indian Ministry of Defense appointed a senior officer in charge.

Indian media say that the senior officer of the section of the IT Act 79 Authority has been given under 3B. Social media platforms may be asked to remove illegal content related to the military. Indian media said that until now the Indian Army was dependent on the relevant ministry to remove or block content.
