Punjab Food Authority's action against adulteration mafia continues, big restaurants are also fined

Faisalabad(94 news)Continuous actions are being taken by the Punjab Food Authority against food adulterants. On the orders of DG Food Authority, food safety teams under the supervision of Additional Director Tariq Mehmood Gul conducted raids on 5 well-known restaurants, snacks units and stores in Jinnah Town, Gulberg, Bhawana Bazar. 220 liters of bad oil and a large amount of prohibited ingredients were destroyed and the tests conducted on the spot were found to be defective. Action was taken when the snacks unit was closed and a case was registered for frying in bad oil. A case was registered after the adulterated spices were found in the grocery store. Poor hygiene arrangements and inundation of insects were found in the kitchen, the labels on the snacks were not approved, the necessary records were not there. The use of spices made from prohibited ingredients in food proves to be harmful. Spices in attractive packaging were sold at various restaurants and grocery shops in Faisalabad. Actions are being taken against counterfeiters under the zero tolerance policy. Citizens should cooperate with Punjab Food Authority by marking such elements around them.
