To solve textile problems in the next two months will build on the strong foundations of this section, the Minister of State Mohammad Akram Ansari
Minister of State for Textile Haji Muhammad AkramSari has said that although the textile sector is facing problems at the global level as well, we will solve these problems at the national level in the next two months and build this sector on a strong foundation. He said this while addressing the opening session of the two-day international conference on modern trends and innovations in textile knitting held at the National Textile University on Wednesday.
He said that undoubtedly National Textile University has always been playing its full role in innovation and research. Especially in the textile sector, the role of this university is commendable. I hope that this university will continue to play its great role in the development of the country. He said that Pakistan is such a country where there are ample opportunities to set up business and profitable industries.
It is very gratifying that in today's conference there are prominent industrialists and innovative researchers whose useful suggestions will take Pakistan a long way in the field of textiles. He said that Faisalabad is called as the Manchester of Pakistan where thousands of cloth and thread mills are working. Ever since the creation of Pakistan, our textile sector has been playing a very important and major role in the country's economy.
This sector is the most important sector for providing employment and earning the country's income, with which every other person is connected. Being a resident of this important city, I realize that the industry of Faisalabad, especially those associated with the textile sector, are running their industries in very difficult conditions. We are currently facing global and domestic challenges which we have to face with full solidarity.
I am fully aware of the challenges facing the industry in terms of market shares, exploration and development of new markets, low profitability and rapidly increasing competition in foreign markets affecting our economy. Which we have to solve together. We have suffered a lot as a nation and unitedly we have to make a concerted effort to solve the problems like terrorism, load shedding, sky-high raw materials and shortage of trained manpower.
We now have to deal with new trends for which both employers and employees have to play a full role in the world. He said that this international conference organized on the topic of modern trends in knitting is a good omen for us because through it we will be able to become an important bridge with developed countries by becoming aware of modern trends and innovations in textile knitting.

On the occasion of this conference, I invite foreign researchers and researchers to visit Pakistan and take a look at the rapidly growing economy in this country. By doing this we will be able to benefit from the research and technology of international researchers and Pakistan will be able to take advantage of the inventions of foreign researchers and technologists to take the country's economy in the right direction.

He said that I assure the foreign researchers from the government of Pakistan that they will be provided a good environment to provide bilateral research information in Pakistan. Organizing such conferences will certainly give Pakistani research scholars an opportunity to get more benefit from foreign researchers and exchange with each other. On this occasion, Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain delivered the welcome speech.
