This decision of the Taliban government has caused a wave of concern in the Pakistani poultry industry as Afghanistan was a major importer of poultry products from Pakistan.
Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) PPA President Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf has said that "Afghanistan has stopped the import of chicken from Pakistan without giving any specific reason. PPA is talking with senior military and civil officials of Pakistan to resolve this issue."
