Comprehensive planning of metro bus is being done in Faisalabad, Asif Chaudhry


Lahore (94 news) Under the plan of the Punjab government to provide comfortable and efficient urban transport facilities to the people within the city, comprehensive planning is being done to start the metro bus service system in the city of Faisalabad. In addition to a study on all administrative and technical aspects including consultation with local experts, the local requirements of urban transport are being evaluated. In view of this objective, Bus Rapid Transit in Faisalabad organized by Asian Development Bank (BRT )A one-day workshop was held in Lahore on reviewing the proposed design for the metro bus service project under which Provincial Minister for Transport and Mass Transit Bilal Akbar Khan was the chief guest and Director General Muhammad Asif from Faisalabad Development Authority was the chief guest. Chaudhry and Chief Engineer Mehrayub attended. The workshop was attended by Deputy Secretary Punjab Transport Department Salman Majeed, Dr. Waseem, Planning and Development Board Officers Hina Jameel, Muhammad Saleem and Punjab Transport Company Director Operations Shahid Mehmood. On this occasion, Asian Development Bank's transport specialists Hamid Khan, Hussain Haider, Huma Daha, Consultants Ashar Lodhi, Mr. Mubasher and others informed about the administrative and technical requirements of metro bus service system according to international standards. Mentioning the urban survey and study about the public transport system, he said that according to the development needs, the planning for the launch of the metrobus service in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank and the Punjab government was carried forward to provide the modern transport system to the citizens. During the workshop, various aspects of designing and feeder route system arranged for the project were consulted about the feasible operation of the project. Provincial Minister of Transport and Mass Transit Bilal Akbar Khan said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab government is determined to provide dignified and quality travel facilities to the people in the major cities of the province. Work on the project to start the bus service system is going on fast. He said that various reforms are being made to align the transport system with modern requirements across Punjab so that this sector can be organized and integrated on a sustainable and future basis. He thanked the management and experts of Asian Development Bank. He said that their support is valuable for the expansion and development of the metro bus service system under BRT. During the workshop, Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry informed about the various survey and preliminary planning by FDA regarding the metro bus service and said that different routes have been proposed for the metro bus service so that the city Every citizen should have access to this facility throughout.
