Instead of banning PEMRA anchors, take action against fake news, Asad Omar
PTI leader's harsh criticism of his own government policy
Islam Abad(94 news) PTI central leader Asad Umar criticized the directive issued by PEMRA to the anchors.
Asad Umar expressed his surprise on the social networking website Twitter and said that it is a very strange decision by Pemra to ban anchors from participating in talk shows and preventing them from expressing their views. He said that PEMRA should take action against fake news instead of banning expression of people including anchors.

It should be noted that the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has directed television anchors to stop expressing their 'opinion' between talk shows and limited their role to that of a mediator. Anchors hosting regular shows were also instructed by Pemra not to participate as analysts in their own and other channels' talk shows. Pemra said in the directive that according to Pemra's code of conduct, anchors' role is to conduct programs in an objective, impartial manner and do not involve their personal opinion, bias or judgment on any issue. It was also asked that anchors hosting special talk shows should not participate as analysts on any topic in their own or other channels' talk shows. In the directive issued by Pemra, it was said that the Islamabad High Court 26 The order issued in October took notice of various TV talk shows based on speculations on Shahbaz Sharif and the state, in which the anchor persons violated the code of conduct and tried to influence the judiciary and its decision with ulterior motives.
