Director Livestock Nadeem Badr visited livestock markets regarding lumpy skin, reviewed the arrangements.

Faisalabad(94 News City Reporter) On the special instructions of Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar, Director Livestock Dr. Syed Nadeem Badr inspected various cattle markets of Faisalabad Division and lumpy skin disease was found in cattle. (LSD) Dr. Syed Nadeem Badr visited Nyamoana Cattle Market. (Sea Road Faisalabad) and visited the Jhang Road Chiniot Cattle Market where they reviewed the preventive and control measures taken to prevent the disease. They checked the disinfection/worm and fly killer sprays and biosecurity arrangements at the entrances and exits of the markets to effectively prevent the spread of the disease during the movement of animals. On the occasion of the visit, mobile veterinary dispensary teams were present in both the markets to monitor, test for Lumpy Skin Disease. and engaged in providing immediate treatment to the animals. Director Livestock appreciated the performance of the staff on the spot, inspected the attendance register and issued instructions to the teams to be constantly alert and active to control the disease. Moreover, on the instructions of Commissioner Faisalabad Division, quarantine centers have been set up in all cattle markets so that suspected animals can be isolated and secured in time. These centers are actively working under the joint supervision of Cattle Market Committees and Livestock Department Faisalabad Division. Dr. Syed Nadeem Badr also inspected these quarantine centers which were found to be satisfactory in terms of efficiency and hygiene. No animal showed symptoms of lumpy skin disease during the visit. Insecticide and tick control sprays were also carried out as further precautionary measures to further reduce the risk of disease spread.
