Meeting of JICA delegation with MD Vasa Saqib Raza, detailed discussion about progress of projects

Faisalabad(94 News City Reporter) Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza was met by a two-member delegation from JICA headquarters and had a detailed discussion about the progress of JICA's joint projects with WASA Faisalabad. Deputy Managing Director Admin Shoaib Rasheed, Director Water Hasan Mustafa Cheema, JICA Consultant Sultan Azam and others were also present. JICA delegation led by Regional Director JICA Headquarters Japan Mr. KasugiMr. Kasugi, while during the meeting, the expansion of water supply improvement project managed by WASA Faisalabad in collaboration with JICA was discussed. MD Vasa said that JICA's Technical Assistants project was extended to provide clean drinking water to the citizens, after which new works have been started in the project including installation of smart meters on water supply connections, digitization of all water supply and business improvement. He further said that provision of clean drinking water to the citizens is the top priority for which JICA technical assistants are welcome to extend the project. MD Vasa clarified that after the completion of the work on the expansion of the project, it will be possible to prevent the wastage of drinking water as the installation of smart meters will use the water according to the requirement while the business improvement of Vasa has also been taken into account due to JICA's technical assistants project, which will also increase the revenue recovery of the department.
