The university removed the subject related to Allama Iqbal from the syllabus

Delhi (94 Web News Desk) The Academic Council of Delhi University of India has approved the decision to remove the subject from the syllabus on the well-known and national poet of Pakistan, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

According to Indian media reports, the essay on Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the author of the famous national anthem for undivided India 'Sare Jahan Se Ush Hindustan Hamara' and the creator of the ideology of Pakistan, was removed from the BA syllabus.

According to media reports, the essay on Allama Iqbal is part of the chapter titled 'Modern Indian Political Thought' in the sixth semester of BA.

Officials of the Academic Council of Delhi University passed a unanimous resolution to drop the subject from the syllabus, saying the matter will now be presented to the University's Executive Council, which will take the final decision.

According to a member of the academic council of the university, a resolution was presented regarding the change in the political science curriculum, according to which 'Iqbal: The subject titled 'Community' has been removed from the syllabus.

He says that in the political science curriculum 11 یونٹس ہیں جن کا مقصد انفرادی مفکرین کے ذریعے اہم موضوعات کا مطالعہ کرنا ہے، ان میں سے ایک یونٹ ’اقبال: کمیونٹی‘ کے عنوان سے بھی موجود تھا، جسے نصاب سے نکال دیا گیا ہے۔

ان کے مطابق نصاب میں یہ تبدیلی اسے جدید بنانے کی مہم کے سلسلے میں کی گئی ہے، تاہم دیگر مفکرین جن میں رام موہن رائے، پنڈتا رمابائی، سوامی وویکانند، مہاتما گاندھی اور بھیم راؤ امبیڈکر شامل ہیں، نصاب کا حصہ ہیں۔
