Decision to install iron fence and rubber soft speed breakers on the safety wall of Abdullahpur Jhamra flyover.

Faisalabad (94 News Mian Nadeem Ahmed) Director General FDA Mohammad Asif Chaudhry and Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam visited Abdullahpur Jhamra Road Flyover. They reviewed various issues related to road safety and traffic management. Chief Engineer Maher Ayub, Senior Resident Engineer NESPAK Amjad Saeed, Deputy Directors Engineering Umar Iqbal, Muhammad Imran and other officers besides Convener Road Safety, Traffic Management and Engineering Committee Mian Iftikhar Ahmed were also present on this occasion. Director General FDA expressed deep sorrow and shock over the fatal motorcycle accidents on the flyover yesterday and said that all kinds of safety measures are indispensable to prevent such tragic accidents in the future, for which there is a need to adopt strategies according to traffic engineering, which should be implemented immediately. On this occasion, while reviewing the technical and technical methods, it was decided to install strong iron fences and soft rubber speed breakers on specific parts of the safety wall at the turn of the flyover, while the number of road signs will also be increased for public awareness so that the sense of keeping the speed of vehicles within the prescribed limit can be highlighted. CTO Farhan Aslam stressed on taking sustainable and integrated measures to keep the flyover safe from traffic accidents and said that apart from patrolling for traffic management, traffic wardens will also be posted on both sides of the flyover. Senior Resident Engineer Amjad Saeed said about the details of the design of the flyover that the project has been designed according to international standards, but there is a speed limit for the vehicles that must be followed. Director General FDA Mohammad Asif Chaudhry directed to start the work of installation of safety fence immediately and asked the CTO to assist in traffic management on the flyover until the installation of fence is completed. He appealed to the vehicle drivers and especially the motorcyclists not to exceed the speed limit on the Abdullahpur Jhamra Road flyover so that no problem occurs. He said that this project is of great importance and usefulness in terms of traffic management by the Punjab government in the field of urban development, thanks to which the traffic on Jhumra Road, Canal Expressway, Sheikhupura Road and other secondary roads has been facilitated.
