The Army Act Amendment Bill was also approved by the National Assembly

Islam Abad(94 news) Pakistan Army Amendment Bill 2023 After the Senate, the National Assembly also approved it.

According to the details, the bill states that a person who discloses information obtained in an official capacity for the security and interest of Pakistan will be punished with rigorous imprisonment for up to five years. A whistleblower with the permission of the Army Chief or an authorized officer will not be punished, a whistleblower against the interest of Pakistan and the Pakistan Army will be dealt with under the Official Secrets Act and the Army Act. According to the draft of the bill, a person under this law will not participate in political activity, moreover, an officer appointed in a general position will not be able to participate in political activity for two years after retirement, resignation, dismissal.

بل میں مزید کہا گیا ہے کہ حساس ڈیوٹی پر تعینات اعلی افسران ریٹائرمنٹ کے بعد پانچ سال تک سیاسی سرگرمی میں حصہ نہیں لے سکیں گے، خلاف ورزی کرنے والے کو دو سال تک سخت سزا ہو گی۔ آرمی ایکٹ کے ماتحت شخص اگر الیکٹرانک کرائم میں ملوث ہو جس کا مقصد پاک فوج کو بدنام کرنا ہو تو اس کے خلاف الیکٹرانک کرائم ایکٹ کے تحت کارروائی کی جائے گی۔ بل کے مطابق آرمی ایکٹ کے تحت اگر کوئی شخص فوج کو بدنام کرے یا اس کے خلاف نفرت انگریزی پھیلائے تو اسے دو سال تک قید اور جرمانہ ہو گا۔
