Oil tankers will be destroyed if they try to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without permission: Iran's warning
Tehran (94 Web News Desk) After the US announced a cease-fire with Israel, Iran has warned that if oil tankers try to pass through the waterway without permission, they will be destroyed.
According to British media reports, Iran has issued a radio message to all oil tankers stating that transportation is subject to permission.
Iran will charge a fee for ships to pass through the waterway, the price of oil 1 Dollar per barrel but empty tankers can pass freely.
It is being claimed that Iran is demanding payment in cryptocurrency. The Strait of Hormuz is a persistently complicated issue between Washington and Tehran. US President Donald Trump is pushing for the free flow of maritime traffic.
Hamid Hosseini, a spokesman for Iran's Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Products Exporters Union, told international media that Iran needs to monitor what goes in and out of the strait to ensure that the two weeks of the ceasefire are not used for arms transfers.
They say each ship will first have to email authorities about its cargo, after which Iran's Supreme National Security Council will inform them about the toll paid in digital currencies.
