Pakistan Ulema Council announces support for temple construction


Islam Abad (94 news) The Pakistan Ulema Council announced support for the construction of a temple in Islamabad. Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council Muhammad Tahir Ashrafi said that we condemn the dispute of building a temple, the constitution of Pakistan is the protector of the rights of Muslims and non-Muslims, Darul Ifta Pakistan and Pakistan Ulema Council will present their proposals to the Islamic Ideology Council.
While talking to the media, he said that our constitution allows minorities to do all kinds of worship here. According to the constitution, minorities in Pakistan are allowed to have their own place of worship and live according to their faith and tradition. Sharia law has also given this right to all non-Muslims.
Allama Tahir Ashrafi said that places of worship of non-Muslims have been built in Pakistan. The Pakistan Ulema Council is calling a meeting of the leaders of different schools of thought and religions with the support of the World Peace Council, in which a joint declaration will be made about the current situation in the country.
He further said that Pakistan Ulema Council is playing a frontline role for interfaith harmony in the country and we will continue it. Pakistan has come into existence according to an international agreement and the non-Muslim population of Pakistan is playing a very positive and effective role for the stability of the country, building a temple is not harming anyone's faith or causing any harm to the country.
Dozens of places of worship have been established in the country for religious minorities and recently the government built the Kartarpur Corridor for Sikh pilgrims, so no one should object to the construction of a temple. All we have to say is that no extremist should be allowed to harm any minority while living in Pakistan.
