Statements of government ministers against Justice Waqar Seth, contempt of court petition was filed in Peshawar High Court

Peshawar (94 news) A petition for contempt of court was filed in the Peshawar High Court against those who gave statements against Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth, who pronounced the verdict in Pervez Musharraf's high treason case. It should be noted that Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth, who is the head of the special court, is also the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court.

In the Peshawar High Court, Malik Ajmal Khan Advocate has filed an application for contempt of court proceedings in which Prime Minister Imran Khan, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor, former President General (T) Pervez Musharraf, Law Minister Farogh Naseem and Special Assistant on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan have been made parties.

The position has been adopted in the petition that defamatory statements were made against Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth, who pronounced the verdict in the high treason case against former President Pervez Musharraf, and inappropriate language was used against him. The petitioner has requested that contempt of court action be taken against the above mentioned persons.

On the other hand, a contempt of court petition has been filed against the government ministers in the Supreme Court as well. In the petition, Firdous Ashiq Awan, Farogh Naseem and Attorney General Anwar Mansoor and others have been made parties and the position has been taken that the people guilty of contempt of court are holding public positions, the court was ridiculed in the press conference and the judge was ridiculed, hateful statements were made, no one has the authority to ridicule anyone on the basis of the decision, the concerned persons attacked the independence of the judge and the judiciary. It has been decided that the court should disqualify all persons from public positions by taking contempt of court proceedings against them.

It should be noted that after the verdict in the high treason case against former President Pervez Musharraf, Law Minister Farogh Naseem, Special Assistant for Information Firdous Ashiq Awan and Special Assistant for Accountability Barrister Shahzad Akbar held a press conference. In the same press conference, Law Minister Farogh Naseem had demanded that Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth undergo a mental examination.
