Islam Abad(94 news) The federal government has finalized a phased energy savings plan and new pricing mechanism to reduce demand for imported petroleum products and RLNG in the wake of the recent Iran-US-Israeli war, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and a potential energy crisis. Under this plan, the prices of petroleum products will be revised every week.

In this regard, the government has prepared a strategy comprising the first, second and third phases and about three to four dozen proposals have been prepared which will be presented to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for final approval on Friday. Top government sources said that in the first phase, the government will implement these measures in the public sector, while in the second phase, the system of online assignments will be introduced in private schools, universities and hospitals. Along with this, the prices of petroleum products will be increased weekly.

According to the official statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, in view of the emerging situation in the region, the meeting of the committee formed by the Prime Minister to monitor the prices of petrol was held in the Finance Division under the chairmanship of Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.
