Internet service in Pakistan is down again

Karachi(94 news)Internet users in the country are facing problems nationwide, as a temporary breakdown of a key upstream provider has affected internet service for a large number of users.
Naya Tel issued a statement on its official social media account saying that the overall internet performance in the country has decreased because one of the company's two upstream providers is currently inactive. Due to this glitch, internet traffic has been affected in several cities of Pakistan and users are facing connectivity problems.
The statement added that NayaTel's technical teams are continuously monitoring the situation and are working closely with the relevant upstream providers to restore service as soon as possible. However, the company did not clarify when this issue will be fully resolved.
Experts say that during such upstream breakdowns, internet performance across the country can be affected as these providers provide data to different internet service providers. In such situations, online banking, video calls, social media and other online services may be affected.
Users have been requested to postpone non-essential online activities and wait for updates from the company. NewTel has assured that the technical teams are doing their best to restore the internet service as soon as possible.
This problem indicates that Pakistan's Internet infrastructure is largely dependent on a few large upstream providers, which means that a temporary problem with a single provider can affect the connectivity of the entire country.
