All directorates to remain active, their performance will be monitored, MD Vasa

Faisalabad (94 News City Reporter) Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza has issued orders to further improve the performance of all departments while making it clear that the issued instructions should be implemented with full spirit. While presiding over a meeting, he said that all directorates including operations, water distribution, revenue should be fully active as their performance will be closely monitored and monthly records will be sent to CRC. MD WASA Saqib Raza added that manhole covers and slabs should be available in all subdivisions so that missing manholes can be covered immediately. Similarly, transfers of operations staff will not be done without consulting the concerned officers. He further said that the first phase of de-silting of roadside drains should be completed in February, while in the second phase, de-silting will be started from March 1, while de-silting should be completed by the end of May so that citizens can be provided with quality and best drainage facilities in the monsoon season. Similarly, all available machinery should be used for desilting of main channels so that there is no delay in the completion of desilting. He said that maximum number of tube wells should be kept operational to supply clean drinking water to the citizens. If any pumping machinery is damaged, it should be repaired and restored immediately. MD Vasa Saqib Raza also instructed to shut down the tubes and pumping machinery during peak hours of Fesco and give rest so that electricity bills can also be reduced at Vasa. He further said that CCTV cameras should be installed at the parking yards and security guards should be deployed so that the WASA machinery can be secured at all times at the parking yards on both sides. MD Vasa clarified that revenue officers should be in full touch with operations and water directorates so that any issue regarding revenue recovery can be resolved. Deputy Managing Director Admin Shoaib Rasheed, Deputy Managing Director O&M Usman Latif, Director I&C Shehryar Hassan, Director Admin Arif Siriani, Director Finance Javed Ghani, Directors O&M Makhdoom Babar, Sanul Malik, Directors Revenue Muhammad Iqbal Malik, Umar Iftikhar, Director Water Usman Zia, Director Construction Owais Jamal, Director Drainage Shahbaz Latif and others were also present in the meeting.
