Islam Abad (94 news) Government crackdown against wheat mafia involved in smuggling 7 Customs officials were dismissed.
According to the details, the government involved in wheat smuggling 7 Customs officials have been fired. Among dismissed personnel 4 Collectors, Additional Collectors and Deputy Commissioners are included. The sacked officers were overseeing operations at Chaman and Torkham border stations. The government has written to the FIA for further investigation. It should be noted that earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that wheat is a basic need, in this regard the people should not face any kind of shortage, every possible measure should be taken to ensure the supply of wheat according to the country's needs, special attention should be paid to prevent hoarding and illegal profiteering.
On Wednesday, he was presiding over a meeting regarding the wheat situation in the country, the country's needs, the existing stock and the action plan to meet the future needs. Minister for National Food Security Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Minister for Planning Asad Umar, Minister for Energy Umar Ayub, Advisor to Finance Dr. Abda Lahfeez Sheikh and senior officers participated in the meeting. Whereas the Economic Coordination Committee has allowed the import of wheat, there will be no tax on this import. Prime Minister Imran Khan had ordered to quickly arrest those involved in the wheat crisis.
