President Arif Alvi PEMRA Amendment Bill 2023 Approved
Islam Abad (94 news) President Arif Alvi PEMRA Amendment Bill 2023 has been approved. He approved this article of the constitution 75 Given under After approval, the PEMRA Amendment Bill has now become an Act.
Former federal information minister Maryam Aurangzeb, while congratulating the media workers, said in her Twitter message that the black law of PEMRA, which was born from the dictatorship of Pervez Musharraf, has been abolished by PEMRA.(restorative) but rather 2023 Constitution of Pakistan has brought within the limits of democratic and fundamental human rights.
Article 19 has ensured freedom of expression by making it a part of the law, suspension of government advertisements in case of non-payment of dues within two months, transfer of powers from PEMRA chairman to Council of Complaints, inclusion of PBA and PFUJ representatives in the council, many such measures have now become law. This consensual law developed in consultation is a joint achievement of media workers and media houses. I am thankful to all my friends including officers of APNS, CPNE, PBA, AMIND, PFUJ, RIUJ, Ministry of Information and PEMRA who have given guidance, support and help. I also thank former Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, former cabinet, all members of parliament who took this historic decision.
