Opposition is not allowing parliament to function, it is the responsibility of Election Commission to hold transparent elections, Mian Farrukh Habib

Islam Abad (94 Web News Desk) Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Mian Farrukh Habib has said that our government respects all constitutional institutions including the Election Commission. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to conduct clean and transparent elections. Since the elections are held under the Act of Parliament, it is the job of the Parliament to legislate. If the opposition has objections to the Election Act, it should be discussed in the Standing Committee of the Senate and come up with appropriate proposals. The opposition has no interest in legislating for public interest and national affairs.
Mian Farrukh Habib said that the opposition is not allowing the parliament to function from the first day and is leading in disrespecting the parliament. During the ten-year rule of the PML-N and the PPP, these people did not do as many walkouts and boycotts against each other as they did during the three-year rule of the PTI, because the two parties were at odds with each other.
He said that during our government from the Parliament 110 Laws passed and opposition in one day 21 Most of the noises that are being made regarding the passing of laws, most of the bills were lying in the standing committees of the National Assembly since 2019, which were up to the mouth of the opposition to come and debate, but the interest of these people was on taking production orders, taking the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee, resignations and boycotts. Mian Farrukh Habib said that the government has repeatedly tried to take the opposition along, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser also formed a committee headed by senior leader and former Speaker Syed Fakhr Imam, but the opposition refused to meet with them.
The Minister of State said that there is no consensus within the PML-N, Shehbaz Sharif is talking about reconciliation and Maryam Nawaz is talking about resistance. The opposition should tell that why the PML-G members were talking abusively on that day when the opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif was giving a speech in the House. Because Maryam Nawaz did not want her uncle to give a speech, there is a division in their own ranks.
He said that the 2013 elections were declared as ROs election by all the political parties, but none of the parties except Tehreek-e-Insaaf fought to stop the rigging. The present government is taking serious steps to stop the way of rigging in the elections, but the attitude of the opposition is very irresponsible.
In response to a question, Farrukh Habib said that the reservations of the Election Commission of Pakistan regarding the amendments in the Election Act will be reviewed. There is a contradiction in the words and deeds of the opposition. In the past, they had agreed on open and traceable ballots in the Senate elections in the Charter of Democracy, but when the time came, both parties ran away. The opposition is shedding crocodile tears. Will definitely consider their suggestions.
